Not only (yes) all important parts of governing systems should be protected with more forces than just a fence. Fences alone don't protect houses enough, drones, guards, cameras- employ as much as needed. Especially after the recent storming- god that was pathetic.

Only right now, while there is a terrorist threat. Once the threat is gone we need to open it up. The Capitol is a building for the people ran by the people.

Maybe some type of security fence but what the capitol needs is more security by the police, national guard, army, or whatever so members of Congress can be safe.

Yes, temporarily and with some modifications. While the implementation of the fence is unfortunate, it seems it is currently necessary to protect members of congress from any violent attacks.
